Access to HE – HSS Diploma (Psychology with Sociology Pathway) January Start, PT

The aim of this Diploma is to develop knowledge of psychological and sociological theories and concepts in relation to child development, education, mental health, research and forensic psychology. In addition, students will develop the necessary academic skills and be supported through the UCAS process.

Students completing the Diploma will have the aspiration of studying on degrees relating to Psychology, Criminology, Childcare and Education in Higher Education.

This course is a part-time course, with 1 day a week attendance required in college over two years. Lessons take place on Fridays 9am – 5pm). There will be a requirement for you to complete additional study outside of the classroom.

At the end of each unit, you will complete an assignment to assess your knowledge of the unit. Assessments can include; Essay writing, Written Reflections, Presentations, Journal Writing and Question and Answer.

To successfully achieve your Diploma, you will need a total of 60 credits.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved GCSE English and Maths at grade C / 4 before starting on this course. A science GCSE would be an advantage. However, we welcome all applications and take account of individual circumstances including work experience and other achievements when offering places
