T Level – Engineering & Manufacturing (Mechatronics)

The serious technical route into engineering. This two-year Level 3 specialises in mechatronics, where mechanical, electrical and electronic systems come together, exactly the skills modern industry needs. You'll spend four days a week in college and one day in a real workplace, so you build genuine experience. Carries UCAS points, with a direct route to university at UCDon or into an apprenticeship.

What You'll Need

  • Grade 5 in GCSE English and Grade 6 in GCSE Maths
  • A minimum of 3 other GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, which must include a science
  • A genuine commitment to a technical engineering career
  • Successful interview with our team
This T Level has a higher entry bar than the other engineering courses because it is an intensive, technical two-year Level 3. If you don't have these grades yet, a Level 2 engineering route is the better place to start.
What You'll Learn

Where Mechanical Meets Electrical Meets Electronic.

Mechatronics is where mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering come together, the systems behind modern automated machinery and manufacturing. This T Level covers a broad 17-unit core, from engineering principles, maths and science to CAD, materials, mechanical and electrical systems, and how modern manufacturing works, then a standalone occupational specialism in Mechatronics.

The part that sets a T Level apart is the real workplace experience: one day a week in industry across the two years, applying what you learn on the job. It is demanding, with real theory and maths alongside the hands-on work. You finish with UCAS points and a direct route to university at UCDon, or into an engineering apprenticeship.
