Level 2 Certificate in Events Planning – Online

Over the past few years, the event industry has been steadily expanding.  Eventbrite estimates that 67% of event organisers anticipate their events to increase in the number of attendees the next year and 39% of those who work in corporate events anticipate their budgets to increase.

The objective of the qualification is to introduce learners to the skills that are required to plan, organise and evaluate events by developing their knowledge and understanding. Areas covered include marketing methods and resources, market research, human resources, communication and customer service relevant to events.

This is an on-line, distance learning course which is accessed via your Internet-connected computer.  You can enrol at any time, and it is flexible as you can log on and study when it suits you.  Tutor support is available by telephone and email.

The online course contains all the learning content needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course.  There are also activities to enable you to practise your skills and test your learning.

To achieve the qualification, you need to complete all 5 units, within 15 weeks.

 Planning an event (A/617/2539)

Reviewing and evaluating an event (M/617/2540)

Marketing and market research for event planning (T/617/2541)

Planning human resources for events (A/617/2542)

Communication and customer service for events (F/617/2543)

The online course contains all the learning content needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course.  There are also activities to enable you to practise your skills and test your learning.

There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification, however you must:

  • Currently live in England
  • Resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
  • be aged 19+
  • Not be on an apprenticeship

Course Progression Routes

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to:

  • Level 3 Certificate in the principles of customer service
  • Level 3 certificate in the principles of Event management

Course Career Prospects

The qualification is suitable for a wide range of learners who wish to develop knowledge and understanding of planning and running an event. It may be useful as an introduction for those who wish to pursue a career as an event planner or for those working in or preparing for a wide range of job roles in diverse sectors which require them to plan and organise events as part of their responsibilities.

  • Environmental Consultant (£23,000 to £43,000)
  • Agricultural Inspector (£23,000 to £50,000)
  • Hydrologist (£22,500 to £46,000)
