The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film and TV Production) is a one year top up programme to the Diploma. This course will give you an opportunity to further develop your skills and build a stronger portfolio for university. The maximum UCAS points you can achieve on an Extended Diploma is 168 (distinction)
Overview:
The extended diploma is heavily weighted towards practical portfolios, with projects reflecting progression to the industry. In your first year you develop a knowledge of the processes in the industry, however in your second year you enhance your knowledge through contextual development and focused projects aimed to directly tailor your skills to an area of the industry you want to explore more. You will also have work experience opportunities to develop your confidence working with clients, again aiming to give you as many opportunities to develop a strong showreel to take to higher education, apprenticeships or the workplace.
Trips/Visits:
As part of your second year we go on a range of exciting trips surrounding the film & TV industry. We go to the ASFF film festival which hosts a range of BAFTA accredited films & Masterclasses from industry specialists, in the past learners have met the masterclass hosts and exchanged contacts for the future.
A 2 day trip to London will take place, where we visit Warner Studios, The BFI and a selection of Film and Media museums. This residential allows for an in-depth look at the facilities and locations popularly used in the industry right at the heart of the Capital.
The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Film and TV. Assignments on the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the project.

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film and Television) is a 14 unit qualification (takes 2 years including the Diploma (8 units year of study).
This course is only suitable for learners who have successfully completed a L3 Diploma in Creative Media Production as well as their allocated functional skills qualification. A satisfactory reference is also required.
