The Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology (Film & TV Production) is a one year course designed to give you an introduction into the world of Film and Television. From behind the camera to in front of the camera, you will experience the movie magic which happens to create an idea all the way to producing a final film.
You will build on ideas, research relevant and key information from the industry, utilise pre-production and planning to advance your production and then progress onto post- production. You will use up-to-date processes and techniques to help you develop your craft, skills and knowledge from this ever changing field. With industry standard equipment like BlackMagic cameras and Adobe software, a designated audio suite for Foley sounds and podcasting equipment, a green screen room to create visual effects and broadcast live streaming mixers by BlackMagic Design to produce live content. With all of this you can enhance your creative talent, build on professionalism and explore the craft, ready to challenge your inner filmmaker.

The course is delivered through a series of 8 units, each with their own set of assignments.
Units 1-3: You will be creating a variety of video content, exploring short film, single camera production, and advertising. Within this you will cover the theoretical links to narrative and audience, while practicing research techniques to structure your idea and roles within the industry. Workshops are held to allow you to practice with equipment and build production skills.
Units 4-7: Are focused on developing your skills further through the development of camera techniques and storytelling, you will also explore the context of Hollywood and independent film. In these units you will be learning interactive media skills and creating a website. Sound design will also factor into these units to make you broadcast ready.
Unit 8: From the skills you have acquired in Units 1-7, this unit allows you the freedom to select a video project of your choice that may have been explored throughout the year to take forward for the final major project. Or you could develop a new technique to carry forward, with help and support from tutors. This could range from a short film to a music video or even a documentary.

- 4-5 GCSEs grades 9-4 or A*-C (including English and Maths at grade 4 or C). And possibly a creative/ media subject.
Or a Level 2 Media Diploma Merit.
After the two year extended diploma you can progress onto university courses, apprenticeships, go into the industry or become a freelance creative.
