Academic Studies – English and Maths


Having a good understanding of English and maths is more important than you might realise when it comes to your educational development and future career plans.

Every course that we offer includes English and maths alongside your vocational course.

If you are yet to achieve the necessary grades in English and maths at GCSE, we have a team to support your needs and help you achieve these essential qualifications.

You can study the relevant GCSEs alongside your chosen vocational course; to support this a designated English and maths tutor will be allocated in vocational areas to help you achieve the desired grades.

English for Adults

If you are aged 19 and over and do not have a GCSE in English at grade C (or equivalent), you can study an English course for free.

English courses can improve your communication skills, helping you progress in work and everyday life. Reading, writing, speaking and listening are all skills needed by employers, so boosting yours could help you take the next step to a better job. All courses lead to a recognised certificate, whether it is an entry-level course, a level 1 or 2 Functional Skills course or a GCSE.

Maths for Adults

If you are aged 19 and over and do not have a GCSE in Maths at grade C (or equivalent), you can study a Maths course for free.

These courses will help you gain the numeracy skills you need for work and everyday life and are recognised by employers. Our courses range from entry level Functional Skills & Multiply to GCSE and are available for complete beginners or those with low numeracy skills. You will have an assessment to help you find the best course for you.
