The programme
Our flagship international offer
The Turing Scheme is the UK Government’s programme for study and work placements overseas. It funds our students to spend one to two weeks working in their subject area in another country.
Placements are built around your course. Catering students cook in professional kitchens. Sport students coach children. Health and Social Care students work in community settings. Construction students learn sustainable building. You come back with real experience on your CV.
Alongside Turing, curriculum teams across the group run their own international study visits and educational trips.

Passport and visa paid
Readiness to travel funding covers passports, visas and any vaccinations you need. A first passport is not a reason to miss out.
SEND support travels too
Additional funding pays for tailored support, including one to one support where it is needed, agreed before you go and in place for the whole placement.
Chosen on potential
Selection looks at motivation and how much you would benefit, not at your grades.
Staff go with you
College staff travel with the group the whole way, from the airport at this end to getting everyone home.

Selection looks at motivation, how much a student would benefit and their personal development, rather than academic grades. Curriculum staff and the international team decide together.
Turing funding covers flights, accommodation, food and local travel. Separate funding covers passports, visas and vaccinations where these are needed. You will be told what personal spending money to bring, if any.
That is true of a lot of students who travel with us, and for some it is their first passport. College staff are with the group throughout. Tell your tutor how you feel and support goes in place before you go.
