This course is an industry recognised qualification that’s starts off with a one year course with an optional second year.
Students in the first year will work towards the NCFE Level 3 Certificate.
Students will then have the option of a (top up) second year where they will gain the full NCFE Level 3 diploma (equivalent to 2 A levels.) The full two year course also gives students the necessary UCAS points to apply for higher education universities.
The two year program will help students gain the necessary skills and experience to work within the travel and tourism industry covering various different roles to explore every interest.
This course will suit individuals that are self-motivated and are able to work independently to achieve clearly set targets. Students will be expected to complete a number of assignments each week to gain the qualification.
The first year’s units are as followed
• The UK travel and tourism industry
• Customer Service in travel and tourism
• Preparing for a career in travel and tourism
• Resort Representatives
• Investigating cabin crew
• Travel agency operations
Students in the second year will study the following units:
• UK Airports
• Worldwide passenger Airlines
• The cruise industry
• Work experience in travel and tourism
• Tour guiding
• Travel and tourism destinations
• UK heritage tourist attractions
There will be a number of college trips throughout the course which may include overseas visits.
Assessment Methods
Mixture of onsite learning and home based online sessions
5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above which includes both English and maths.
