This course provides study and experiences linked to Policing and Police entry requirements, you will study a range of units to help improve your knowledge on current Police issues such as preparing for a career in Policing, conflict and personal protection and crime scene investigating.
You will do a range of theory and practical based units all designed to improve your career opportunity whether you decide to apply for a Police apprenticeship or progress onto the Extended Diploma in Policing with a view to gaining UCAS points to study at university.
You could also progress onto the degree course in Criminal Justice at The University Campus Doncaster.

This course is for 1 Year, attending college 2.5 days per week onsite with 4 hours online study.
The course consists of 9 units in the first year for the Diploma, and a
further 9 units in the second year to achieve the Extended Diploma.
Some units covered are:

- Develop leadership skills
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Develop aspects of physical fitness for entry to the police service
- Values and standards in the police service
- Understand conflict management and personal protection
- The influence of UK government, international organisations and the media on the police service
- Collaboration between the emergency services
- Emergency planning and response in the police service
- UK legal systems and the police service
- Crime scene investigation
- ICT in the police service
- Volunteering in the police service
- Safeguarding and the Prevent Duty
- Understanding mental health
Assignment based assessment.
5 x GCSE at a 4 or above to include maths and English.
On achievement of a merit overall you will be offered the opportunity to return for a second year to achieve the Extended Diploma in Policing and gain additional UCAS points.
