Project Search is a supported internship programme designed for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). It is a collaborative initiative involving a local authority, a college, and a host employer. The programme provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills and gain valuable experience in a real workplace, with the goal of progressing into paid employment by the end of the year.
For this programme, the host employer is Amazon, so applicants must be 18 years or older.

What Will I Learn?
During your time on the programme, you’ll gain valuable experience and knowledge in areas such as:
- Attendance & Timekeeping – Understand the importance of punctuality and reliability.
- Workplace Behaviour – Learn what’s expected in a professional environment.
- Teamwork & Relationships – Build positive working relationships with colleagues.

When Will I Attend?
This is a 36-week programme that follows the Doncaster College academic calendar.
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Amazon, iPort Doncaster
There is no formal assessment methods for this programme, it will be focused on your work experience.
- There are no formal qualifications needed to take part in this course.
- You do not need to be a student at Doncaster College to apply.
- You must be over 18 as the host business is Amazon.
You may find paid employment with the host business or other businesses after the programme ends. You will also receive employment support from our staff or alternative employment specialists, such as Aspire To Be and Working Win, to help you find employment.
