Doncaster College is celebrating the outstanding success of Floristry Tutor Jade Loftus, who has been awarded the prestigious RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year 2026 title and a coveted Gold Medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Jade received the top honour for her floral installation, Nature Magnified, which was inspired by the microscopic structures of plant life. Created as part of this year’s “Floristry Laboratory” theme, the design transformed cellular forms and microscope imagery into a striking large-scale floral display, encouraging visitors to look beyond the surface and appreciate the hidden complexity of nature.
The RHS judges awarded Nature Magnified a Gold Medal before naming Jade the overall RHS Chelsea Florist of the Year, placing her among the UK’s leading floral designers.
Reflecting on the moment, Jade said: “I can’t even put into words now how it felt winning, I think I’m still processing it.”
Speaking about receiving the Gold Medal and Florist of the Year, she added: “Getting the gold was phenomenal and was always my aim. That’s a massive kind of life achievement for me. Then going on to win florist of the year is just electrifying. I didn’t see that coming.”
As a tutor at Doncaster College, Jade brings her industry expertise and passion for floristry directly into the classroom, inspiring the next generation of floral designers. Her success on one of the world’s most prestigious horticultural stages highlights the high standards of teaching and professional practice that students benefit from every day.
