DN Colleges Group Students Progress to WorldSkills UK and SkillBuild Qualifying Heats

DN Colleges Group is celebrating the success of 25 students who have secured places in the national qualifying heats of WorldSkills UK and SkillBuild competitions.

Students from Doncaster College and North Lindsey College will compete in the following WorldSkills UK categories:

  • Beauty – 4 Competitors
  • Hair – 2 Competitors
  • Culinary Arts – 2 Competitors
  • Digital Support and Security – 1 Competitors
  • Foundation Catering – 1 Competitors
  • Renewable Energies – 5 Competitors
  • Restaurant Service – 3 Competitors
  • Welding – 1 Competitors
  • Graphic Design – 1 Competitors
  • Industry 4.0 – 4 Competitors

In addition, two students have qualified for the SkillBuild Bricklaying competition.

A particular highlight this year is that the Renewable Energies WorldSkills UK qualifying heats will be hosted at the South Yorkshire Institute of Technology (IoT), showcasing the region’s growing reputation for technical and green skills training.

Preparing Students for Industry Success

Participation in WorldSkills UK, SkillBuild and other industry-led skills competitions forms an important part of DN Colleges Group’s approach to preparing students for employment. These competitions help learners develop technical excellence, problem-solving abilities, teamwork and resilience, while showcasing the high standards of vocational education delivered across the Group.

WorldSkills UK and SkillBuild competitions give students the opportunity to test their skills against learners from across the country, gain valuable industry experience and develop the confidence needed for their future careers.
