Catering and Hospitality at Doncaster College
You’ll work with highly experienced tutors to refine and develop your skills to a professional level, getting hands-on experience and the best on-the-job training in our commercial training bar, café and Waterfront Restaurant. You’ll be part of the kitchen and front-of-house supplying a range of dishes including tasting menus, lunches, baked goods and afternoon teas to name just a few.
There will be the chance for you to get creative and work with your peers to create full menus for our popular themed nights in which you will see your dishes served to paying customers by your fellow students demonstrating their table service skills. Alongside this you will have the opportunity to represent the College in local and WorldSkills UK competitions, showcasing their growing skills to peers and future employers.
Our Waterfront Restaurant has received an AA College Rosette, showing that our food is prepared with skill and care using high quality ingredients, most of which are sourced from local farmers, growers and suppliers to keep our food miles low and freshness guaranteed.
Course Enrichment
We have great links with local industry meaning that, while studying with us, you will take part in work experience in local hotels, restaurants and catering facilities. You could also get the opportunity to showcase your skills at the Doncaster Delicious Food Festival alongside celebrity chefs. You could also be entered into one of the many competitions we take part in, such as the national Nestle Toque D’or competition and Young Pastry Chef of the Year.
