Doncaster College is a fully accredited Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) College, which allows us to support our students for a number of years with their sporting aspirations.
Being a TASS student at North Lindsey enables our students to continue to focus on their chosen sport, without impacting on their academic studies. Not having to compromise their focus on either means we have had great success with students passing through the scheme.
The College became a member of TASS in 2018, with our first student through the scheme Gemma Richardson, achieving Team GB status excelling in her boxing career. Gemma gained the support she needed with a timetable to suit her training schedule, without impacting on her College qualification and College experience. Gemma has so far become the 5 times National Champion, 3 times European champion, AIBA World Champion and England International Boxer.
You do not have to study sport with us to become a TASS scholar.
We have students from all areas of our subject curriculum areas, accessing the support from College, our industry experienced staff and each other. We have sports coaches, mental health coaches and a specialist assigned team to help with anything our students need help with in order to succeed, to become the best and most exciting young current sporting talent in our country.
