Ensure you have up-to-date allergen knowledge with our allergy awareness course.
Research from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) states that around 6% of the population live with a diagnosed food allergy, but around 30% of adults reported experiencing an adverse reaction when eating certain foods. Food allergies can be life threatening, so it’s important that food is labelled and handled correctly to keep people with allergens safe.
Local authorities are responsible for enforcing allergen information regulations, but businesses need to ensure that all staff have up-to-date allergy training. This allergy awareness course will give you an understanding of allergens, the causes, and how to deal with reactions.
This course has been designed to provide skills and knowledge in a range of subjects related to allergies. These include the different types of allergens, allergies and intolerances, food labelling and packaging, how to recognise reactions, how to reduce risks, how to provide first aid, and more.
To study the courses, you need to have a suitable device such as a laptop, a desktop computer or a tablet such as an iPad. You also need access to the internet.
Please note: It is not possible to complete the courses on a mobile phone as they are not compatible with our learning platform.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate from NCFE awarding body, confirming your achievement.
