This Gateway Qualification has been developed to students to study a number of different aspects of Business and Retail. This will enhance employability skills and develop knowledge of Business in general. The qualification supports personal growth and progression into further learning or training, with the aim of obtaining a business role in the future.
Employer involvement
Local employers will contribute to the learning development and delivery of training. Support for your learning may include:
- some work-experience
- attending session with industry experts
- employer involvement in exercises
Units of study will include subjects such as:
- Communication Skills for Work
- Handling Mail
- Handling Telephone Calls
- Health and Safety in the Workplace
- Supporting Business Meetings
The qualification will be awarded to students who successfully achieve a selection of units and develop a Portfolio of Evidence which will be assessed by the Gateway Qualifications’ Quality Assurance process.
There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications. However, students will benefit a good understanding of spoken and written English at least at one level below that of the qualification (e.g. at least Entry 3). All applicants must attend an interview.
You could progress onto a Business Administration Programme at Level 2.
