If a are interested in understanding human behaviour and a career in psychology, counselling or criminology is your goal, this Level 3 Access to HE Diploma is the course for you!
The Access to HE Diploma is a 1-year course which will skills, confidence and qualification to progress to university. You will be in college 2 days per week (September to May) and you will also be required to do additional independent study in your own time to complete the unit assessments.

You will complete five skills units which will support you to successfully complete your studies and progress to HE. These units may include:
- Academic writing skills
- Researching and understanding opportunities in HE
- Research Skills
- Presentation Skills
- Perspectives in Psychology
In addition, you will study a number of Psychology units which will support progression to a wide range of university courses and career options and may include:
- Biopsychology: Behaviour and the Brain
- Cognitive Psychology
- Counselling Theory
- Psychological Profiling
- Psychological Disorders and Therapeutic Strategies
- Impact of Forensic Psychology in Criminal Investigations
- Health Psychology
Looking to pursue your dream of going to university but not sure you are quite ready for a Level 3 course, have a look at our Level 2 courses which are designed to support your progression to Level 3 and can also be combined with GCSE English and Maths.
Assessment takes place at regular intervals throughout the course. Units take either 5 or 10 weeks to complete and assessment normally takes place at the end of the unit. A range of assessment methods are used including research tasks, written question and answer tasks, presentations and written essays/reports.
Applicants are normally expected to have achieved GCSE English and Maths at grade C / 4 before starting on this course. However, we welcome all applications and take account of individual circumstances including work experience and other achievements when offering places.
Students who have successfully completed the Psychology Diploma can progress to a wide range of university courses including:

- BSc Forensic Psychology
- BSc Psychology with Counselling
- BSC Psychology with Criminology
- BSC Psychology with Education
