SEGA Access to HE – Humanities & Social Sciences (Social Work and Criminal Justice Pathway) PT

This course is QAA accredited and validated through SEG Awards. 

Throughout this course you will study a range of different subject areas across sociology, criminology and psychology. 

Students on this pathway are expected to progress to study university courses in discipline such as social work, criminology, probation, police force, psychology, counselling, etc. 

This course is completed in two years. You will attend college 1 days per week (Monday 9am – 5pm), and you will need to do a similar amount of independent study in addition to college attendance. This is considered to be a part-time course of study.

Assessment takes place at regular intervals throughout the course. Units take around 7 weeks to complete with assessment normally taking place at the end of the unit. A range of assessment methods is used including research tasks, structured questions, presentations and in-class tests.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved GCSE English and Maths at grade C / 4 before starting on this course. However, we welcome all applications and take account of individual circumstances including work experience and other achievements when offering places.
