DN Colleges International goes from Strength to Strength!

Posted: 05/08/2021

The International team is thrilled to have secured contracts in the first round of the Turing Scheme, which will give amazing experiences to our students.

The Turing Scheme is the new domestic programme to ensure that UK students continue to be able to access study and work opportunities abroad now that we are no longer in the EU and cannot continue to be a part of Erasmus+.  We will still be delivering our Erasmus projects until 2023 and we will continue after this to maintain the partnerships that we have developed through Erasmus – we have wonderful European partners!

The Turing Scheme is exciting and different in that it offers world-wide opportunities.  For our maiden Turing project, we have secured partnerships in St. Lucia in the Caribbean, Missouri in the USA and Jakarta in Indonesia, as well as additional European partners.  This will support Higher Education students to take part in 4-week work placements and for Further Education students to continue to benefit from 2-week work placements.

Education secretary Gavin Williamson said the “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to work and learn abroad had been “disproportionately enjoyed by those from the most privileged backgrounds” until now, and we at DN Colleges Group are pleased to be able to keep offering these amazing opportunities to our students with an even wider scope for travel thanks to The Turing Scheme.

DN Colleges Group is also this year’s winner in the AoC Beacon British Council International Awards so it is proving to be a rewarding year for the International Team! The team is looking forward to the remaining travel restrictions being lifted and working with staff and students to bring together some life-changing trips for our students.
