DN Colleges Group is delighted to announce that we will be training a Youth Social Action Apprentice, in partnership with the Pears #iwill Fund and Association of Colleges, to empower students to take action and address local issues, as well as creating opportunities to undertake meaningful work experience around social action.
The apprentice will be employed and study at Doncaster College where their role will be to coordinate and manage youth social action activities. They will split their time equally to work in other local partnership colleges, North Lindsey College and East Riding College, carrying out activities which will be student-led and in collaboration with community organisations and charities to ensure wide participation, impact and sustainability. They will also look to engage with local employers for support.
The apprenticeship will last 18 months and will have the opportunity to collaborate with local and national community organisations and charities to ensure wide participation, impact and sustainability of activities. They will have the opportunity to engage students volunteering in social action activities, including those from a BAME background and providing opportunities to the needs of disabled students.

This apprenticeship opportunity will enable students to expand their knowledge whilst reinforcing positive college relationships with local employers.”
The Pears #iwill Fund supports the goals of the #iwill campaign, contributing funding to embed meaningful social action into the lives of young people. Social action involves activities such as campaigning, fundraising and volunteering, all of which enable young people to make a positive difference in their communities as well as develop their own skills and knowledge.
The #iwill Fund is made possible thanks to £50 million joint investment from The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to support young people to access high quality social action opportunities.
